Mariette and Eleonora
Designed by Nathaniel G. Herreshoff, Mariette and Eleonora are two of the most extraordinary classic schooners sailing today. While Mariette has been restored from her original construction, Eleonora is a reproduction from Herreshoff's design of Westward, completed in 2003. Photographed shortly after an unexpected squall dumped several inches of icy hail on the Regates Royale fleet in Cannes, France, 2007.
