Columbia
Crew onboard 12 Metre Class Columbia prepare to drop the jib after rounding the windward mark at the 2008 Museum of Yachting Classic Yacht Regatta. Columbia is one of more than a dozen classic 12 Metre boats in their renaissance on the Newport, RI race circuit. Designed by Olin Stephens, Columbia was the first US 12 Metre Class boat to race in the America's Cup. She successfully defended the Cup against Sceptre, the British entry, in 1958.
